They might have "The Bible for Dummies" on a shelf somewhere. It's been thumbed through a couple of times. Sometimes they're successful in finding the verse their preacher referenced, but that's only if they even try. They're dim as two-watt lightbulbs. Dim and dangerous.
Fair, but reading Zinn really helps to contextualize all other reading on American history and makes it clear when things are being sugarcoated or skipped over. A People’s History is a helpful FIRST book when you’re trying to understand how we got here and how to stop it.
