This, to me, is the most obvious messaging opportunity *ever* for Democrats. Chuck Schumer should be on the ground in Arkansas within 24 hours and Democrats in both houses of Congress should be filing measures to provide federal funds to assist in recovery efforts. Force Republicans to say no.

Sheesh
So, declaring emergencies is only good for Trump if they let Trump get away with otherwise straight-up illegal actions? Like, war on fentanyl, etc. to make extreme immigration actions and taking tariff power from Congress?
Before Schumer's plane touched down Trump would declare a disaster in AK and the FEMA folks would get there first.
And my answer to that is, "Yeah, that's part of the point."
The *worst* outcome here would be people in need getting help. The potential political win is gravy.
Do the right thing, but dont for a second pretend it will have any electoral benefit.
The post-hurricane vote was before he denied the request and it sure looks like things are about to get harder for us all economically.
The harder things get, the easier the voters become to sway.
I used to believe exactly what you are saying, but history proves otherwise. These states will vote Republican.
Never in my lifetime have I seen all of these occur simultaneously, so history might not be the best reference 🤷♂️
I'd like to think that that might cause a sea change but that's probably too much to hope for
They're all rich enough to rebuild it all themselves... but they won't.
Blame the Voters

Sucks to be Republican.
The people banging the drum for federal relief should be Arkansan Democrats, not a New York Senator who probably nobody in the state likes (including Democrats).
But, yes, loudly make sure voters know who is for and against for assistance.
