Why do heat pumps cost so much more in the US than they do in Europe? A Norwegian friend says they cost on average around $6000. As usual, only those with higher incomes can afford to invest in the future of our planet.
6000$ is very expensive for a heat pump. You can get it at that range sure but you are also rocking a huge house where having two normal ones would probably be better heating wise. 1500-3000 is more your average house range.
Actually I just checked again and prices have gone down. $7,000-10,000 with installation. My friend in Norway couldn't believe the prices they charge here in the US, but they were even higher then.
