Efforts to align the military with police for extrajudicial violence are doomed to fail. Hegseth's ilk think they're analogous enforcers of white Christian empire, but after decades of recruiting from the nation's disadvantaged the army and police are nothing alike.

This won’t save any money— it will just create bigger, more expensive problems that will need other funding to fix. End VA= more people on disability. End federal prisons= more expensive private prisons.

And those are only 43% of the proposed cuts. Anything supporting the arts and humanities is I assume a goner.

Two ‘businessmen’ who never served a day in their lives, yet benefitted from the service of others, have ideas about ‘saving’ money on the ‘labor costs’ of those who did serve.

Reminds me of a company I once worked for where the workers were thought of only in terms of a $/hr rate, plus markup.

If the new trump administration tries to cut veterans' benefits, they are in for a rude awakening. This is going to screw over the Vietnam era veterans who are all at the age of retirement and needing additional health care. The same veterans who finally got coverage for agent orange exposure.
