the last time the west was winning supermajors against JP, we were playing port mackerel rainmaker in Stingray Meta

-it doesn't have better of maps, in fact if you go through each mode it pretty much at best has 1 more "solid mapmode" than say, tower

you know I used to agree with this take and then I started playing teams that play the other modes properly and they really are just stalling. Like it really is easy to just get one push on rainmaker and then sit in most easily defendable part of the map until the enemy feeds and then do it again.

being able to break holds wherever the enemy wants to be instead of on a fixed target (zone, tower) requires different skills/strategies
and it’s not at all new (rm on anchov far left/right fan anyone?)

and frankly this game has so many specials that completely remove opponents from an area (bombs, strikes, slider, kraken, rain eventually, booyah, sometimes missiles, sometimes zooka)
successfully getting stalled *consistently* is like #1 sign of being skill gapped by people that really like winning

work to do before you can start going for a push of your own and by then you'll have maybe one chance. At least in zones the game is giving you the advantage to output more specials relative to your opponents and win the fight.

i will say the other modes are more polerizing. but. we can fit CB in there at the LEAST. Ill make a desent stage list rn. Manta, Inkblot, Crableg, Museum, Mako, Marlin, Umami, And ROMen.
Rain is bad BC of rushing, + stages hinder ist biggest strangth. and tower is bad BC of special stupidity. But..

Clam dosent have thise issues anywere near as mutch. The map list is like. the stages i want to play activly. But there are like four more alright ones if we want a bigger map list. + that is definitly the most interesting mode to watch. cause it shows a lot more of the players. we CB in top level.

Ironically zones only actually does help low level. Low levels know jack shit about this game, having more consistency is needed for them to learn the game. That is why I'll always tell low levels, "start with a one trick, when you learn how the game works you can play other weapons"

part of my argument is imo the reduction of mapmodes tried earlier in this game's life didn't teach people deeper coordination

they just learned the basics on how to play those maps and didn't go much further

ie. i don't think people actually are
