It's still being worked to my knowledge, which is based on a few comments from the co-founder on a stream in November. Though I would not be surprised if it was a mobile focused MMO or something.

THIS november?
Im OotL so its possible I missed it, but even so without Ghostcrawler at the helm I dont think I give Twitch's ass about the Riot MMO anymore. Especially not if theyre so determined to bend to s2's complete rewrite of the lore
If you look at what the director left to make (Ghost) with the knowledge that that's the vision Riot rejected, I have to assume they're going to make something either like Lost Ark or totally instanced and not much of an MMO.
I figure they were going for a Lost Ark style of game since that was immensely popular around that time. But with New World failing, Lost Ark declining in popularity (outside of Korea) and the current state of MMOs in general, Riot probably bowed out realizing it wasnt worth the leviathan investment
Lost Ark still has 1.5x as many active players on Steam as XIV (and I know that's not a direct comparison). Twice as many as POE1. It's by no means fallen off. It was never going to be as popular as it is in Korea.
If Ghost is any indication, combat may have been similar to Lost Ark. Not much else.
Im not expecting it to be as big as KR, of course. Just whether it remained relevant enough for a company as large as Riot to sustain a game mimicking it. If the game fell below a certain user count after 2-3 yrs, it would hint a very large risk for them. (1/2; sorry for rambles!)

Otherwise, it looks like they are actively recruiting people for the team on their website
