We are experiencing the same in Europe(Italy here), maybe at a different degree but equally dangerous. Trust is necessary and while we should not underestimate the situation the most progressive thing one can do is never identifying the people of any country with its current leader. Just my opinion.
100% fair & reasonable. The US has become unstable and is in the midst of a Fascist coup. We'll figure it out, but it may be a very long road back. I'd emigrate if I could.
We don’t blame you. It’s bad. It’s really not the majority of voters. I believe there was hacking and several other forms of cheating. Most of us are shocked, mortified & enraged. Be careful because it’s happening everywhere. Don’t let down your guard 🙏
I read somewhere that (roughly) a third voted Rep, a third Dem and a third didn’t vote. Which means that the vast majority either voted for this or stood by and let it happen.
No—I really don’t believe that. I don’t believe he had a third. And I don’t believe a third didn’t vote. Hacking can change lots of numbers and even make some disappear.
Even if you wish to believe the election was stolen, the fact that it was even close really demonstrates how out of touch and horrible at messaging the Democratic party has become.
How can election to bring back the monarchy even be close?
I totally agree that the Dems are out of touch and needs a total left wing transformation. That being said: there is a lot to indicate there was massive fraud in this election that people need to be aware of. Potentially millions of votes for Kamala were thrown out, and multiple swing states
I choose not to dwell on the possibility, because it will not change the outcome.
And for the purposes of this conversation, I can see that it may have made a difference in the Electoral college, but the popular vote would still have been close.
After regaining power, investigations can be made.
implemented laws that permitted voting challenges that would get votes tossed out without much chance to challenge. There were people whose job it was to challenge thousands of votes per day. Plus Trump openly admitted to Musk rigging voting machines.
I’m crazy, but I don’t believe it was close. I think this is his (their) 3rd time cheating. He couldn’t believe he lost last time because he cheated—and decided that Dems couldn’t have beat HIS cheating unless THEY cheated.
The popular vote was definitely close. If you argue differently, I wouldn't call you crazy, but would suggest you spend more time outside your bubble.
If you are correct about the cheating, then yes, it is conceivable that it could have been a large victory in electoral votes.
In a way I hope you’re right. If you are then that is shocking. And if you’re not, and it is true that the vast majority either voted for it or stood by letting it happen, then that is also shocking.
Pretty hard to comprehend either way 🤷♂️
Yup. And also seemingly daunting to overcome or do anything about. Feeling like a hamster on a wheel thinking I actually have the possibility of getting somewhere.
The U.S. has traditionally had horrible voter turnout, even in Presidential elections. Given the election infrastructure across states, widespread fraud is unlikely.
Massive disinformation and voters staying home or some switching to Trump are sadly the reasons Harris lost.
Agreed - it’s the “low info voters” - those who are not involved and susceptible to whoever screams loudest and/or plays to their emotions - that switched their votes.
Gotta get to them, as well as motivate those who sat out (over Gaza or other issues)…
The lines to vote in person were so long. I'd never seen lines that long in my lifetime. And many people voted by mail. The turnout was so great that I was sure Harris would win. We outnumber those mofos! Her loss was such a disappointment.
I would say you watch too many American movies, hacking, OMG LOL. Admit that Americans are not exceptional at anything, not even at being manipulated by fascist megalomaniacs. We already know something about it, Americans are enjoying it for the first time now.
Yes, on social media, with a lot of help from Zuckerberg and Musk. Then people will choose for themselves.
Don't forget that more than half of the voters are weak-minded. Worldwide.
The numbers of the non-voters have been very alike for several election circles so yeah, this is obviously correct. The assholes who didn't bother to vote are even worse than MAGA, imo.
Yeah, they were very few people’s first choices. But we live in the real world where we have to make shitty choices sometimes and a lot of people chose wrong, so now we’re all fucked. Which a third of us knew we would be.
It should be pretty clear at this point that things are demonstrably, and for many groups are terrifyingly, worse than they would have been with Harris. If you can’t see that, I’m guessing you don’t belong to one of the groups currently being targeted. Yet.
There was a clip of trump last week at his desk saying how he wasn't going to win then they helped him win which was great etc - or something like that, I can't find it now of course!
What people are doing when they cling to these narratives is the exact same thing the other side did in 2020... except it is a fringe thing instead of being pushed by the former president. Still not good and also a way to avoid facing the fact the OP is saying.
What Trump hoped to accomplish with his constant complaints about the 2020 election was that when he cheated in the next one, everyone would be afraid to “sink to his level” by calling him out for doing so. It appears Trump succeeded massively.
I don't see much reason to think that was his goal back then but it would certainly be the kind of 4D chess move that people on the right always want to attribute to every dumb thing he does. Would be insane to risk getting convicted by a more competent DOJ just for that.
He knew he lost. He knew he’d run again. Not 4D, just very easy common sense that even someone of his level of intellect could easily come up with. And somehow a large amount of Democrats, including most the elected members of congress from the left, have completely bought it.
He knows that the left have higher standards than him and are afraid of looking even remotely like him, so he decided he’d make anyone trying to fight election fraud have to look like him to do it.
I disagree that he could have known those things, he was just trying to illegally stay in power and came up with a scheme that luckily failed to do it.
I hear that and I acknowledge it. I believe it’s something more of us believe that not, but it is ultimately unhelpful going forward—except to also find a more effective method to safeguard against cheating. It’s frustrating & I know I’m not alone feeling abandoned by the party.
Trump:"He (Musk) knows those computers better than anybody those vote counting computers." Trump mentions the Olympics,World Cup & states twice that he'll be able to make it because the election was rigged." Madison Square Garden: “I think with our little secret we are gonna do really well"
The UK continuing this whole nonsense of the special relationship and saying what a great partner the US is and fawning over Trump just looks ridiculous. We need to forge a path apart from a US that is pro-fascism and closer to Putin's Russia than Europe.

Politely FTFY.
Dems objectively messaged better than Trump from leftist/centrist POV.
But it's been obvious my whole life Americans are mostly right-wing. We leftists just don't want to deal with it.
Centrist in the United States is radical right-wing in most other democracies.
I don't really understand your last sentence there. You really don't have any other choice but to deal with it or move to another country.

There's a failing worldwide to listen to the opposite point of view, or attempt to govern for society as a whole.
kamala lost the young white male vote in America by not listening to their problems and instead blaming them.
Pretty hard to comprehend either way 🤷♂️

Dems can win in ‘28.

manipulating elections worldwide.

1.47% more than those who voted for Harris.
Some voters did shift to Trump in ‘24, but the loss came from those who sat out (or voted third party).
Dems can win in ‘28. Need to get folks to the polls.
It is now "move on" time.
Hello world. It's Canada here.
Looking for a new lover.
Come with stellar reference.
The USA swears on a stack of bibles that we fucked em real good.
We are serial monogamists.
We have a lot to offer to the right partner, but we do say sorry alot. 😘
