Jasmine's whiskers - sensory organs, just like cats - is able to feel the direction of aether movements. The scent glands in the roof of her mouth work similarly to the scent-sense in Wolfwalkers, but she has to focus on it

To answer my own:

Hyperion (Azem) is sensitive to aether and it manifests in varying tastes for him. He states that the flavors, though bizarre to most, tell a tale of someone's personality traits and tends to judge people based off of that.

Some he'll avoid as much as possible bc of it.

In a modern AU, low/no magic versions, this manifests in a form of synesthesia where sound becomes flavor to him and he tends to like/hate people based on their voice alone. ☠️

As a whole, aether/magic for Hyperion reveals a lot about a person and, if he focuses, can note moments their power grew.

A good example of this is when Hyperion corners Vala and has her 'flare' her aether for him so he can read it. Taking the raw aether, he spins it around the two of them and, via taste, sight, and sound, gives a (rather invasive) accurate read of her personality.

Not sure as of yet, but I am toying with the idea that Serenais can see threads of aether when they are really concentrated - in other words, when they are a part of either a powerful spell, or a strong aetheric event.
Otherwise, she needs tools for it, really. Including her rapier.

Amelia's sensitivity to aether is dulled due to her decade+ of using black magic in rather brutal fashion. Touch is her primary sense, with black magic literally 'freezing' or 'burning' as she manipulates the aether through her. Sensing other aether is like physical pressure, coloured by its nature.

Sikrha gets itchy/bristly scales when she senses something she really doesn’t like. Ascian spatial manipulation messes with her horns and gives her a horrible headache. After HW she gets better and better at feeling the flow of aether around her. Thanks, Nidhogg’s eyes!
