Can banning the art of an enemy ever be justified, or does it risk narrowing cultural horizons and sacrificing universal humanism in the face of existential threats?

russian culture has been a key part of how they have colonised other nations. They continue to promote language and culture in ex-colonies to keep their influence and power. Not giving free speech to the imperialist aggressor is a necessary move to de-colonise.
I've eliminated all Russians including artists from my social media feeds bcs there must be consequences for the actions of their country. Pressure must be applied in places large and small.
Banning russian art actually broadens cultural horizons. People can stop focusing on mediocre reproductions of what the russia stole from other nations. Better to focus on authentic art made by everyone else in the world.
Look lady,i dont want to be mean to people on the internet. The ruzzian scum just posted a video with the decapitated heads of 4 ukranian soldiers the other day
What would you call that?
Tchaikovsky would have been banned himself in today’s Russia. LGTBI Propaganda, you know…
If you want to piss Russia off, listen a lot to Tchaikovsky, making always a point about his homosexuality. More effective, just and much more enjoyable.
There’s also the fact he was Ukrainian! His family were Ukrainian Cossacks! His name literally means SEAGULL according to my source. And we all know what orks think of Ukraine.
Why else would they try to Russify him?
What were Tchaikovsky's views on Ukraine? If he was anti-Ukraine then it's fair to ban him. If not I'd ban him for the duration of the war but not forever.
When a state becomes a terror entity committing war crimes, and uses all misinformation to sow distrust and chaos, that states "art" becomes a propaganda weapon.
Who's blaming those long dead people? I haven't seen anyone doing that.
But the right of the people, who centuries suffered from russian imperialism, to exclude anything russian from their lives should not be questioned.
Also I didn’t question it. I said it was stupid.
I think it is short sighted to let your hate blind you to beauty.
I understand that you might feel differently.
I could not possibly understand everything you guys have gone through.
I just love Tchaikovsky.
In the title.
If being pedantic makes you feel superior great.
If letting yourself get consumed by hate brings you peace that’s up to you.
I’m not judging you when I have not been in your shoes.
That does not mean I can’t leave my stupid opinion on the internets.
Art is created by artists, not nations. Ban their people (except for refugees) and products from entry into your country, and take their money, businesses and any other assets that are within your country. Block propaganda and misinformation and counter it with facts and reason.
No one owes giving russian artists a stage except russia. There is no "sacrificing universal humanism", just russia choosing a path on which its artists will be invisible.
Why would you even want to enjoy the art of enemy from all the variety from which you can freely choose? You can't give your attention to everything, so why are you choosing to ignore other great artists to give your attention to someone from a terroristic state? "There is no war in Ba Sing Se"?

Or what is your goa?
What would you call that?
Staging any production of any kind from anyone from there just should not happen.
They do not belong to the civilized world and should be shunned. Period. Total blackout.
