He ruled it out, before they tried collaborating (it failed due to public pressure), and then ruled it out again after that, right before an election. I don't believe them, and you shouldn't either. Never judge politicians on what they promise, judge them on what they do and have done.

They came in at 20% with a large gap to the CDU. Don't be to scared 80% of Germans voted for democratic parties and only 20% want the AfD as a part of a Government while 70% oppose that.

The C in CDU has been silent for decades. It’s "just" a conservative middle-right party. Strongly westbound, (ex-)transatlantic, pro Europe, pro Ukraine. With a handful of Trump-loving idiots but which party has not?
