I recently saw this again on a big screen, first time in years--it's always been one of my favorite TOS eps/movies (if nothing else, for the "nuclear wessels" scene lol)... it's a little creaky with age, but less so than some TOS, and it has a lot of heart.
I've been to opening day for every Trek film except one, and I never miss any of them if they haul one out for an anniversary or other special screening.
Used to take time off around Friday noon when it opened--better seats, fewer lines, plus playing hookey from work. But the last time I saw this one, it was a midnight movie out under the stars, on the top deck of last year's ST cruise ship. If I could watch all movies that way, I most def would.
I remember crying over that dedication the first time I saw it--made me miss part of the beginning of the film. Probably cried every single time I've seen it, and probably will until I die...
