I want/need to stay informed, but basic news coverage is driving despair right now, so is anyone doing basic news coverage, but with like, an action plan? I need like if NPR was run by the BPP.

Talking Points Memo is my go-to if I have to winnow my news consumption for my own mental health. It's a great combo of reporting and analysis and Josh Marshall is often the guy who is synthesizing what's happening everywhere in the most straightforward and sane way.
The only news we have found recurrently useful and reasonable has been the Financial Times, oddly enough. It’s moved forward in its theory and thinking as it has to, where most British media has become reactionary and compromised by their leaders
Been knee-deep in stay informed/aware/keep your enemies closer mode for a decade now, and this? I can barely stand to look at/hear news at all right now. Yeah, something... useful/purposeful would be nice.

Obviously, my newsletter will not be at the NPR or BPP level.
Thus I also seek the same news coverage you're asking about. I want to redistribute the actionable info.
Mother Jones,
The Brennan Center,
The Guardian,
The Nation,
The New Republic,
The Progressive, and I forget two others that I read.
As for planning resistance, start local. Grass roots action helps immediately and is nearly impossible to stop.
Marching on the mall right now would be a massive waste of resources and might encourage the goons.
Kind of infuriating. News is less than worthless right now
