This isn’t really something that a regular person can do much about. This is global politics. But I think we need to prepare for them failing to solve it. Which might lead to financial crisis, food shortages, job loss etc.

We can't do anything at that scale yes. We can build help networks though. Local ones obviously. Also we don't need to be big shot politicians to reach out to friends across countries

I definitely think we need to build up mutual aid networks, especially around vulnerable people who might need help to get food or medical assistance.

Defense is just one part. What happens if the US withdraws from all international treaties? From the UN? Even kicks the UN out of New York. This is not stuff I have made up. This is all out in the open.
