Lizzo is a talented and active young woman by every metric, yet we are supposed to believe she's unhealthy because of some arbitrary BMI number?
Make it make sense.
“Fat but fit” is possible, absolutely. If you walk 30 mins a day, you’re going to be more fit. Unavoidable.
AND: The statistics are incontrovertible that the more overweight one is, the more likely one is to experience more ill health and shorter lives.
Also, you can be overweight and still have strong cardio and vascular markings
metabolic panel that includes blood pressure, waist:height and key blood markers is best IMHO
Lebron James is obese, according to BMI.
To replace it, we'd need a clear, numerical way to measure CV health. Without that, it risks being subjective or limited.
The article didn't suggest a way of doing that so unfortunately it's a bit redundant.
Some dudes look jacked af but are pumped full of gear, eat like shit and couldn’t jog a mile
Some chunks can leap skip and jump a mile easy and are much healthier inside
BMI has always been flawed for the majority of the population
It doesn't take build into account

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for males and we know how to prevent it. Yet we don't.
Unfortunately Bam Bam Bigelow died of a drug overdose
