i often end up back on windows due to [insert X linux problem here], but it's always so nice to come back to my linux install i've tooled from the ground up <3
maybe it's time to give it a try again! the biggest issues i remember were lack of transparency in kwin until manually restarted and with getting edid info over vga on an older pc so i had to use xrandr or something lol
i've tried nixos before but struggled to get into it- my understanding is that people love it because the whole system can theoretically be extremely replicable via a series of configuration files. not super important for me, but cool for those who need it!
tl;dr the actual setup process from boot media to desktop has a pretty similar flow to arch :3
once you actually get to desktop, the main difference is the package manager (and that's all the difference there ever should be on the linux desktop, imo)
