As far as I know, up until the 2010s, Japanese publishers dubbing their games in any language other than English was a rarity. We other folks had to settle for subtitles.

Still salty the PS3-onwards rerelease of Kingdom Hearts 2 no longer includes any of the other dubs

The Spanish one, while questionable on some parts, is still pretty good nonetheless
