The use of AI and talking about everything as AI is vague too. Grammarly is not generative AI, for instance, which is where this thread began.

It is partially gen AI; you can use it to rewrite text that can generate new words :) But not gen AI in the sense of breaking copyrights

AI has massive water use issue. Some firms are attempting to tackle it. But in a world where too few people have access to fresh clean water way too much is being used to cool the data centres that generate largely unnecessary AI usage.

By that I mean some AI use is transformative and positive. The majority is unnecessary. But the public need to know more about the damage AI use is doing to the world’s fresh water supplies

All the big players are now releasing water stewardship strategies that are beginning to tackle the issue but as usage increases the worry is that water reuse and capture approaches might not keep up!
