Which also hurts the future of the hobby. If the kids now aren’t having fun because their rules keep changing on them, they won’t get their friends into the hobby or come back to be adult collectors after their 10 year sabbatical.

Which is why I said it should be its own spin off game. Because it’s not the core hobby experience you want to sell to the new starters or the largest audience. I’ve nothing against the competitive crowd wanting to play a game of Warhammer, it’s just it negatively impacts everyone else’s experience.

Constant change due to poor balance hurts everyone, but doing nothing about balance problems is hardly the answer - there's not much fun in imbalanced games, whether they casual or competitive. Imbalance hurst casual play more, if anything.

What are your sources for "5%" or for "vast, vast majority"? Almost all AoS played locally to me is GHB Matched Play, but are there stats that show this isn't reflective of AoS?

You can't really say all AoS played locally is matched play any more than its only 5%. We know for Magic most is played at home, but a TCG is a very different and more accessible thing then a miniature game. Even if you have sales data, it would be hard to judge with how long to the table.

It's something I seen occur in events, and there is a reputation of competitive play killing communities of players where I play in the past.
