Chronic disease from cancer
-kids LIVE. They may have chronic disease from chemo, etc but they used to die in childhood

Chronic disease from CF
-average live expectancy is growing! These kids who died young are now living into adulthood

This isn’t to say chronic disease is easy. But it’s not always a bad sign that could’ve been fixed earlier from the environment, eating, etc. It is actually a sign that kids are living WITH their life-altering disease much longer

Cystic fibrosis! 20 years ago, tragically, few people with CF reached their ‘20’s. Newer treatments, the product of medical research, are helping more live longer. Yes! Treating chronic disease extends life, and is why we studied for so many years.
