Gliscor, Greninja, and Mega Aggron were my other mainstays (though it’s been years since I did any battling, as you can tell by megas still existing).

Greninja is a fun design, I remember grinding eggs in Y for the shiny version!! And I feel you, I stopped playing midway through the Gen 7 games so I have no idea about the meta now 😅
