Beyond the right-and-wrong debate around assisted dying legislation in front of UK Parliament, is the even more serious constitutional question of the role of the state in sanctioning the killing of its citizens. Why stop there? Bring back capital punishment too, as no doubt many public want.

Following debate closely over on assisted dying. Am overwhelmingly convinced by points made -esp by so many disabled & terminally ill people who fear being pressured to kill themselves- despite so-called safeguards. This is not about religion or morality. Its just bad law UK parliament should reject
