Massachusetts needs to build 222,000 homes by 2035 to head off the deepening housing shortage, a figure that adds a new sense of urgency to the state’s efforts.

That wouldn't be a long-term solution, because housing in Boston was damn expensive even before AirBnB, et al, existed.
But as a short-term solution it's one hell of a good idea. And long overdue. Also tax the shit out of "investment properties" that only house people fewer than 30 days a year.
BUYER BEWARE BOSTON IS OWNED BY LOGAN AIRPORT IT RUNS 24 hours a day. Nextgen low fly toxic noise pollution will grumble the skies in and over your property beginning at 5:15am and blanket the skies with non stop inescapable noise pollution. You’re not a citizen you’re just something to fly over
A RENTERS CAP/RENT CONTROL WOULD GREATLY HELP BUT OUR BULLSHIT STATE GOVERNMENT ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING MONEY FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR INVESTORS CAUSE LETS BE HONEST THATS WHAT A DONOR IS AND BUILDING MORE OVERPRICED CONCRETE POS ISNT AN ANSWER!
There’s “plenty” of housing available in the Boston metro area? No. You’re lying. There is a shortage of houses. Denying the factual data in favor of ideological beliefs is what right wingers aligned with the rich do. Our side should be better than that.
Ah yes the old you don’t agree with my facts so you must be the other guys. Believe whatever you want, I actually have my two feet on the ground and see these empty buildings everyday. Feel free to say whatever you want.
LOL you’re a landlord spreading misinformation to discourage new construction in order to enrich yourself at the expense of the misery of the poor. It’s the only possible explanation for the nonsense you’re spreading.
A great start would make it illegal to use "changes the character of the neighborhood" as an argument against, well, anything at a zoning board of appeals hearing.
