Only one I’d disagree with is Anora - I don’t get the love shown to it so far, and I would never have nominated it…

I’m glad I saw it, it had moments, but it’s nowhere near Best Picture material, IMHO.

I just saw Nickel Boys last night. I thought it was fantastic but agree with your point about the acting sometimes feeling awkward. The scenes that stick out the most to me are the ones that didn’t involve talking. I’m glad it was nominated

I totally disagree with the ranking 😆 but all of your justifications are well-argued— nice work!
Personally, I’m just too wedded to the source material to love Dune II, but I’d be delighted to see a genre film beat out some of the more Oscar-baity entries.

Most of my trans and non-binary friends have some issues with Emilia Pérez. It sounds like it’s just a specific story that’s coming out (no pun intended) at the wrong time with so much trans hate & erasure. I will check it out. It seems odd to go trans just for protection. There are other options.
