I’m unsure about that last bit unless they’re looking to replace all of 360 Live within the emulator, I think a very key part of the BC experience is you can still use online functionality on a One/Series console

@billy.wales i'd assume they port it somehow or do something about it, xbox live itself is an unsustainable pile of legacy and probably hilariously vulnerable code

or, they could be testing something for that emulator, ie to show ads for people on xone/series/windows

I would argue they probably are after the 360 players who still play because they can sell them Game Pass whereas right now they can barely sell “Core”

@billy.wales i mean obviously, but if being stuck in 2005 didn't convince them, i don't think microsoft will; at this point playing online on the xbox 360 is a conscious choice (in america, that is)

It’s definitely still a conscious choice, but they clearly have some reason for wanting to advertise to them, only Xbox 360 players will see this it’s not even like BC users on Xbox One will

part of me thinks this is because the amount of dashhome layouts available to them is very limited and ones that *don't* stretch the game disc icon have too many spaces expecting to be filled by content

I think it’s better not to stretch out the game disc icon, but I am curious why they aren’t advertising the X|S here — they used to advertise games here before the store shutdown, it’s not like this is any different?

i still don't have it here in germany. But one question since i have problems with that: Can you change ur themes? Because if i'm log in with my XBOX Live Account, i can't use much my profile when i click on my avatar and want to change the themes. It freezes there :/

It’s seemingly only the US that gets it - I’m still able to change my themes, perhaps you have a corrupt theme on your hard drive?

i hope it is not currupted. I bought this 360 used and it works with no problems when i play with it. I sold my OG white one years ago and then got the series s where i could use my xbox profile for the backwards compatible games.
