Try instituting some boundaries on a transactional grifter and see how quickly their head spins around exorcist-style.They are also very bad at holding up their end of the bargain should you choose to partake. You can always win them back by offering something (don't)/2

because they that's what they would do to win you back. In 2016 I watched every US debate from primaries onward. And I came to the conclusion, that social media amplified or fostered an overreliance on what things appear to be rather than what they are. /3

If you can get enough people to believe/agree/enable/ignore whatever you put out, you can go very far. You just need to be consistent and find others who also want to get ahead, or think you will help them do so. DT is a symptom, or a result not a cause. It's FYRE festival and Anna Delvey. /4

Imho we all have a responsibility to stifle and harmful behaviour. It's far harder and much too late when it becomes monster of a problem ingrained in the fabric of our societies. On appearances, I said this in 2016 and was told I'm overreacting. Here we are, not entirely due to, but in part. /5

Appearances and transactions have now combine to unleash hell. And we are still woefully underestimating it. We just need enough people to decide this is the way it is now and it's unstoppable beyond waiting for another era to replace this one 🤷🏾‍♀️ /6

Note that I'm saying these ppl and this way of thinking have always existed, but we weren't prepared for what the internet would do to amplify them and their contagion, combined with too little focus on the literacy/information evaluation that needed to coincide with tech advancements.
