Wow. On Nov. 5th, Threads had five times more daily active users in the US than Bluesky.

Now, Threads is only 1.5 times larger.

I can see why Meta is freaking out now

I love Threads, I left Twitter after it was sold and then came Threads. I think it’s possible to enjoy both Threads and Bluesky, there doesn’t have to be a competition.

Note the huge swing on desktop. Threads never did get that a viable desktop version was really important to a subsegment of heavy users.

Well said. Threads had several challenges starting with tying the accounts to Instagram followers. Completely different audiences. Also others mentioned some of the weird moderation features. Finally I trust Zuck as much as I trust Leon.

While I opened a threads account after deactivating my Twitter account I felt a bit uneasy as it is owned by Zuckerberg. It was moving from a platform run by a greedy asshole to another. Bluesky is different and makes me far more comfortable.

Same here. I also never really got into Twitter/X. I like the starter packs as well as the lists and custom feeds features here. Essentially creating multiple algorithms of my own enabling more focus.
