Assuming Xbox as a brand will still exist. They're dipping out of hardware and there's not a lot of articles about it (but they do exist) on how GamePass is actually a massive loss-leader that is cannibalizing new game sales because it's conditioned Xbox players to expect new games be "free".

GamePass was a loss-leader meant to corner the market by getting everyone on Xbox (and it failed in this) and M$ can't just keep bumping the price on GamePass forever to make it less of an anchor because prices are already at what today's market can reasonably bear.

Yeah their gamble hasn't paid off. It always did seem too good to be true. I have seen speculation xbox would become more a publisher then console, but again that all depends on what MS are doing now and if they find a way to make AI profitable, which isn't looking likely
