A manual safety is a button or lever designed to immobilize the firing mechanism of a gun when the trigger is pulled. Each year we see toddlers find their parents’ guns, pull the trigger, and kill family or themselves. Many guns don’t have one.

think of the children that are older
?
Well maybe not. After all this is Bluesky not Musk's Twitter.
We don't have enough of those.
We need to file first degree MURDER charges on the adults responsible for those guns and those kids.
These deaths are completely foreseeable.
Rule 2: store your gun in condition 3; no round in the chamber. Children lack the hand strength necessary to chamber a round.
Following these two rules would prevent most accidental shootings.
Rule 1 makes Rule 2 unnecessary.
It is one thing to succeed in keeping the gun out of a child's hand, quite another to keep that gun from firing lethally. I believe in having double protection when lives are at stake.

I need it explained to me like I'm 3 how responsible gun ownership and requiring safety designs in all firearms violates the new (incorrect) 2a interpretation.
Sadly, only 26 states have Child Access Prevention laws to hold negligent parents accountable - and many are watered down.
