He was not good at a key presidential job: communicating. After the first year they hid him away and when in public seemed doddering. The only surrogate who was consistently good at it was Buttigieg.

That is true, but they should’ve put Kamala out there on a weekly basis, even if they did not anticipate her being at the candidate. She was the highest administration official next to the president. Misogynistic lack of confidence in Kamala was instrumental.
I agree. I think there was an assumption that she wouldn’t win a primary campaign and bypassing her would have been political disaster. Turns out she was a good candidate who didn’t have enough time because of that.
Nonetheless the real issue is that people voted for a rapist/felon/insurrectionist.
It's not true. The media didn't focus on him as they did Trump. He was working, getting things done like presidents used to. When the mainstream media sensationalizes Trump's every move, we should not jump on the bandwagon but still keep track.
It is the role of the administration and the president and the vice president to counter the media treatment of Trump knowing that the circus is always more entertaining. Might’ve been a hard job, but they failed miserably.
Actually, affecting public opinion, has always been a big part of what a president does. Think how Obama would have traveled around and told the success stories. I don’t want to criticize JB’s job as president, he did some great things, but he didn’t communicate it well.
Then you don’t give the media a choice. You announce a press conference about aliens and then talk about how you brought down the price of eggs. Trump is very good at this. Don’t sit around waiting for the media to notice you because they’ll always go for the bigger circus.
Maybe I didn't get my point across before the circus came to the presidency. The president wasn't expected to make headlines daily. I agree that Democrats need to message better and remind people of what they are doing and have done.
No, you did. And I understand your point of view, I just somewhat disagree. The media shouldn’t be treated with in good faith since they don’t treat us in good faith. That’s just my stance on this.
💯 Dr. Zucco.
Republicans have spent decades and decades building a system for messaging.
Dems/Libs/Progressives are 50+ years behind.
Dems are experiencing the natural consequences that come from years of laziness.
Nothing happened to Democrats.
They're not victims.
Whining loses elections.

The media has to work with what they get.
Messaging is not that hard.
Dems need to put in some effort.
