Hopefully as the costs go down and the savings in electricity to landlords goes up they will also switch. Downside: They will also more than likely unrealisticly make it a reason to charge more for rent but save the planet?

What’s your opinion on microgrids vs distributed energy systems? I have grid tied solar and where I am in Canada, it’s a growing source of energy generation for my province. Otherwise energy is mostly hydro generated.

I've been wanting to go solar for a few years. Sadly it just doesn't work in our budget. Even with tax breaks, which don't really work in our tax bracket. It doesn't allow us afford it. 🥺

I think we are on our way into a new kind of energy era, where we will have an abundance of energy during most days. This will make us use energy in a different way, using it to convert the energy into hydrogen and use it for things we haven't even imagined yet. :)

I live near Palm Springs in a new house, which in CA requires solar installed. I paid a total of $130 to the electric utility this year—that was only for the month of August when temperatures were above 110°F every day. The rest of the year I have sent more energy back to the grid than I have used.

Congratulations on your new home! Our builder used Sunpower—but they just filed for bankruptcy. You might try Renova, Sunlogix or Coachella Valley Solar.

I don’t have a backup battery yet, but plan to because I want to get off the grid. I have friends who have Tesla batteries and like them—but if you hate Musk as much as I do you might want to find an alternative.
