Here’s more! Land planarians are commonly known as hammerhead worms despite not being annelids (segmented worms). While some species are invasive, they're a fascinating family of creatures that come in a stunning variety of colors/ patterns! I retired this base but may bring it back.
And yet they’re not invasive everywhere. They have a native range where they are beautiful and lovable. And a lot of the invasive ones here are feeding on already invasive earthworms, so I don’t hate them like some people do.
They do eat native earthworms too so I’m not advocating for them to be disregarded as harmful for the environment, but I find beauty in invasive animals because they don’t know they’re doing anything wrong. It does make them harder for me to cull though, but I never want to desensitize myself fully.
