Nintendo is weird with Mario tho. Like they have Peach fly in Super Mario 3D World cuz of Mario 2 but then in Mario Wonder everybody jumps the same, Peach can’t fly, etc

Mario 3D World also has you hold down a button to run (like in 2D games) but other 3D games have you control pace by pushing analog stick all the way

Now that you mention it, Mario 3D World seems like it logically follows Mario World, not Mario Galaxy. Odd that the logical 3D step after the 2D games would come so late. I bet that’s something @caneandrinse.com could tackle if they cover that game.

Anywho I’d hafta give Mario 2 a rating of 4.1 outta 5.1 stars, going on my memory of last playing it about 32 years ago
