like the Experian app does dark web monitoring, more secure credit file locking, subscription reduction or cancellation, credit scores for all 3 credit bureaus, etc
Daily. Think of it all in terms of yearly spend. e.g. cancel YouTube TV and save ~$1200/year. Now think of that as a percentage of what you bring home in a year.
Enough! But probably not quite enough to warrant monthly expenditure. I much prefer paying a one-off fee for a license. Subscription models suck, perhaps with the exception of 'rent-to-own'
Everyone should think about it & all of their discretionary spending. Make a budget & set both short & long term financial goals, big or small, it will make a difference. You don't have to punish/deprive yourself completely, just keep what truly gives you joy & bang for the buck.
You don't need an app, lots of free online info on how to budget. https://www.morganstanley.com/articles/creating-a-budget-your-guide explains it well. The apps often use the 50/30/20 model, and that is NOT for most people who are just starting out, living paycheck to paycheck, like we did when we married in 1987.
If you have to keep paying every month, then we are screwed. Amazon web services, apple web services. Is where they may the big money. Just out to gouge
So, Imagine if we all boycotted sub based services for just one month? The most importat thing that would happen is a shift toward free or pay-once alternatives. Thats the power of people! I will investigate this a bit more and make a list!
The Ring security cameras make that one worth it for me. I live in the country and they’ve been helpful so far in providing video evidence for a theft, a dog attack, and catching a carjacker who fled police into our woods.
it's less fun when, like, you have to cancel the vpn you use all the time cause a freelance job vanished into the a.i. ether and paying for it isn't sustainable any more. i want my subs back...
that's pretty wild. $100 bucks a month. Then again that could be just 3-5 subscriptions at 20-30 bucks each. on their own it might not seem all that much.
Not a lot really - I toy with cancelling Prime but really mainly have it for the free delivery and make it back over the year. Microsoft for the cloud back up of my assignments and GiffGaff for my phone.
Happy to pay for Netflix, is worth the money as Australia has unwatchable free to air TV generally.
This year I subscribed to MUBI this year and my partner tried Britbox but she says not again.
We dont subscribe to any music streams - I think they are unethical. No plugin subs either.
