I'm used to having it somewhere else, such as in a well hidden away wiki page in Azure DevOps called 'Decision log'. This is one of the times where I really wonder why I didn't think about putting it directly in the project root to begin with, with all the 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ that follows.

I'm super curious - does this help prevent AI from making repeated mistakes as it builds out the app and iterates? Just kinda wondering the benefits and how the markdown file leveraged :)

Great question. On more complex projects I’ve found maintaining a requirements markdown file valuable for grounding (e.g. “Make sure to not regress the requirements in <>”). Every tool has at one point slipped so its a better safe strategy 😅

100% AI. I would say that with more detailed instructions the output quality could be even better (e.g. by default most provide a high-level overview with my two liner)

I didn't know cursor can make changes to files (or create new files). Is there a setting or something like that or you just prompt it to write into a file?

I think it only does that if you are using Composer mode vs Chat
