Interesting theory?!? Man, if this isn't 100% obviously the case where you live, I gotta move to Austria. Meanwhile, here in Vancouver, thieves run around w battery disc cutters, and you can't leave your bike anywhere longer than to DASH in for groceries while praying it's not stolen.

When I'm asked questions like this, I first think about how the sentence would look with an AND instead of an OR/NOT.

Safety and convenience are an ↔️ pair and the nature of the 🎯 defines the weighting. Is there social security and control, time and so on.

Depends on how you define convenience. If you ride an eBike and can safely store the battery, helmet, and backpack, I'd say it's quite convenient. I agree that safety remains the #1 factor.
