I don't disagree. It was incredibly gratifying to receive care for the last 2.5 years and not owe a penny. I want that for everyone who needs or wants it, bc it would only cost taxpayers an extra $2k a year to do (saw the math worked out somewhere).
My husband is retired military so we've had "universal healthcare" for the past 40+ years. It's such a game changer. No premiums, deductible, or copays when he was active duty. Never a worry about how to pay for care or medications.
Because people against it are always telling people who would be for it that there are long lines in countries with socialized medicine. The girl that does my perms told me Friday night that people in Canada are rejected for care due to age. Not sure I believe her.
It's so dumb because I think it would actually cost less in taxes than it does for premiums, copays, and deductibles.
Plus, no one going bankrupt over medical debt or forgoing treatment until the problem gets worse.
