The entire problem could be addressed with universal health care. It would provide better outcomes with less spent per person as studies prove. Why? Economies of mass (scale). Funded largely by taxes like every other first world democracy.

From what I can gather, a lot of conservatives don't want universal healthcare cuz they don't trust the government. If we incorporated some way voters could vote out anybody corrupt or incompetent, they might get on board. Like how some states let you vote out judges...
I mean we can vote out the people who made the appointments but we can't vote out the people doing the actual job... I'd be fine with that if it got more people on board.
Not to mention when the govt is footing the bill, the focus of healthcare shifts from treatment to prevention, which benefits everyone. If we can avoid you developing a disease or condition, healthcare costs go down
