I think about this often and wonder if this is why a lot of people didn't feel the horror, even back in 2016. Someone who has never been in an abusive relationship would not recognize the signs or even believe how cruel and deliberately harmful some humans can be, unless it's a lived experience.

I agree- it's been perplexing how many 'good' people still can't see it, when it seems to obvious to others. For many fortunate people, it's simply outside the bounds of belief, they've never experienced it themselves.

Absolutely. I was so churned up in 2015, because I sensed also that it was too late. He was going to be elected.

To see it repeated was exhausting more than surprising. We know what he is, and we know he's predictable. That's why it's better to prepare to block his next moves than focus on him.

I really feel for the good people of the US- it si going to be a very tough 4 years. But with an eye on what history shows us, I also see the most likely political outcome is that the US becomes irrelevant and ignored for a time.
