Yes, absolutely to the positives of play ... BUT social media can also be play, and is not always bad, and enabling outdoor play is about much, much more than playgrounds.
Children need to be able to play on their doorsteps, at a moment's notice and in 5 spare minutes, with friends and neighbours.

The better message is - let kids play and let's create free, safe and accessible play spaces online and offline
