When people say “write what you know,” they don’t mean than only the fictional profession of ‘mech pilot’ can write about mechs. They mean this: that I try really, really hard to put myself into every page I write, and I am glad that resonates and makes us all feel a little less lonely.

I love the way queer folks will write something fundamentally inhuman struggling and prodding and fixated with a desire for connection in a way that is deeply human. It's incredibly relatable to the queer experience, especially the queer autistic experience.

We all crave to be seen with dignity.
