It's been wild out but so far *touching wood* nothing has blown away or been destroyed. I think we're out of the worst of it by now, hopefully.

Fingers crossed. It always feels very dramatic here because we're on the highest ground for miles and close to the sea, but the worst damage I've seen is smashed fence panels. I imagine deep glacial valleys are really vulnerable to sudden torrential rain causing river to burst their banks

Yeah, we're right at the end of the glacial till here so the valleys are less deep, but the Towy regularly bursts it's banks at llandeilo, and though the council have done some mitigation here the Loughr can still get a bit...exciting.
