Me too! I grew up in the country where we had a huge garden every summer then canned so many of the fresh veggies & fruits or froze them. I miss those days soooo much.

the road ends at my parent's house, they just got cable a year and a half ago, they had been using dial up till then, i shit you not.

just got back from my parents' house with jars of salsa, pickled peppers, spaghetti sauce, and some jellies my mom made. there were also black walnuts, chestnuts and hickory nuts that were ready to eat.
my mom also made some black raspberry pies from this year's frozen berries while we were home.

There is Kindy in my street that is very special. Street library, vegetable growing but best of all back onto bushland Flying Fox Reserve & did project naming local indigenous trees. Their walks are bushwalks. Always happy sounds there.

It's so good when am going down the covered walkway seeing little coloured hats bobbing about in the bushland & others just sitting on a stone looking about. Have volunteered at kindys & this is the best have seen. Also learning about importance of flying foxes.

I love watching my Flying Foxes the way they will do human equivalent of poke in the ribs to get other bat to move over. Sadly Paralysis happening & with Lorikeets too.

😢Where I am at, we don't see many bats but they are there. Even hung up a bat house in my yard for shelter for them, hoping to attract some! That's so cute to hear how they interact! Animals are so much more intelligent & sentient than many give them credit for.

My grandkids are obsessed with my plant identification app. They beg me to go around the garden and identify. The oldest records them. It’s great fun!

It’s a fun project. We also grow butterflies then release them. I purchase the whole kit from Amazon.

That's really cool too! I discovered by accident one year that caterpillars love dill after they completely ate my entire crop I planted 🤣but then the butterflies we got were amazing! So now I plant extra dill each year, enough for them & enough for me!
