So far I am enjoying this a lot more than original SEED. it's not perfect and it's pulled down a lot by (IMO) over-reliance on the original cast who are simply not as interesting as the new characters

but it's just so much more compelling of a show

I've got a theory that one of the ways Morosawa's health problems harmed the show was actually excessive use of the old cast. We know there were weeks they were flying blind because "head writer in the hospital". I suspect the other writers would've been more comfortable with established characters.

That said the traditional complaint used to be "when Kira shows up, they made him the main character again!" and... it really really doesn't. He's more a plot device than a character in Destiny
