Season 2 of The Wheel of Time is good. Like, really good. Great even. Season 1 was a bit odd, but they found a vibe with this show and it's spectacular.

Glad to see some positivity about it. Im a big fan of the books, do yearly rereads. I think they’ve got the spirit of it, the actors are hitting their stride, and season 3 is shaping up to be good from what we’ve seen. I think they’re fun watches that I’ve certainly enjoyed!
I love Wheel of Time. It is one of the most epic experiences I've lived through. The show DEFECATES all over the core themes and characters of the story. All to prove some stupid point that has NOTHING to do with the books.
Yeah, I think adaptations NEED rewrites to fit the format. Some stuff that works via prose doesn't work in visual media, but I've loved (most of) the changes.
...they still haven't made Perrin likeable yet tho >.>;;
I like it. I went into it not expecting it to be a 1:1 adaption to the books because expecting TV to adapt epic fantasy is a ridiculous notion. But I'm pleased with what they DID do. Maybe my favorite improvement is giving the Forsaken actually threatening. In the books, they're practically comical
And yeah, adapting WoT 1:1 would involve 9001 longshots of rooftops. I really like combining the books (14 seasons? no thank you) and the pacing is incredible considering how much build is needed for all 500 characters lol
The main thing about Ishi in the books is that he tries to win Rand over to his side by... threatening him in dreams and breaking rats and shit. Like, dude, wtf is your goal here?
Hahahaha, right! Like, the show having Lanfear fuck it all up because *lol Lanfear* is great. How else are a bunch of kids who have no idea what they're doing going to defeat an ages-old super sorcerer?
Oh, sabotage from ANOTHER super sorcerer. Perfect, well done writers.
S1 was good upto the Covid-19 outbreak and the Mat actor leaving the show before for the last 2 episodes. It skewered the ending, leaving Mat in the wrong place for S2. Well, S3 has everyone back together, all in the same place before splitting. Looking forward to 13th March, 35 more days
I just recently rewatched both seasons.. it took a little time to find its footing but season 2 was fantastic. Hopefully season 3 will be at least as good.
Yeah! I had the same feeling. Season 1 was good enough to keep my invested until the end, though I feel like they struggled to honor the story and adapt it for the screen, but yes Season 2 rocked it.

I'm pretty stoked for season 3 also!

It's been years since I've read the books but you're 100% right, I barely even remember the Forsaken over everything else.

The horn summoning? I got chills.
