I do really like FF7 treating Sephiroth as this virus of sorts infecting the world, he's everywhere and nowhere because Jenova is uses its Cthulhu Old One powers to psychically attack the world using the body of those failed clones. All the while Sephiroth is actively infecting the life stream.
