Hoped that I would never have to do this, but after paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to live in a nursing home, my mom ran out of assets. She is 94, totally disabled, vascular dementia, sweet as could be. It was a nightmare, but I got her on Medicaid.

She still has to pay thousands to the nursing home monthly, all of her SS and pension. She gets to keep $60. This does not pay for dental, vision, OTC drugs. And, now, I have to worry about Medicaid being cut?!

I work in the field. I propose Medicaid For All on a sliding fee scale. With reimbursement rates also on a slide that also correlates with the enrollee’s FPL#.

My sister is on Medicaid due to health reasons (MS) and disability, and without it she would be in trouble.

I think this is a trial run for Trump and maga to go after Medicare and Social Security.

I believe there are ~ 63% of nursing home residents on Medicaid. One of my family members is presently in a nursing home on Medicaid. I would not be able to take care of him or pay his bill if they took away his Medicaid. Nursing homes cost ~ $8000 - $12000 a month.
