Does anyone have any data on twitter use among non English speakers? An Indian friend who mostly chats in Telugu but shitposts in Hindi said he hadn’t noticed anyone leaving and had no thoughts on Elon Musk. Was kind of confused why I would even ask about him lol - ThreadSky

I think the uk English exodus is fairly recent. Germans were here en masse last year already (lots were on mastodon before), my timeline was pretty much all German language here until an uptick in last 4-6mo.

Not sure if many Brazilians went back there or stayed here….

some of japanese twitter has started moving here or to other sites like misskey, there's been quite a few viral japanese tweets lambasting musk and particularly his no-opt out AI and blocking policies
