There last weekend. Trastavere is a really interesting area, very atmospheric. Piazza Navona well worth a visit as well as Campo di Fiori. Of course, history around practically every corner B!

Oh, hang on.....if you get a chance to get into St Peter's Basilica, Michaelangelo's statue Pieta is mindblowing. How he got the lace over Christ's face out of a block of marble is mystifying. ...

Trastevere. It was 1994 and the place was a bit wicked, a bit wild but full of amazing bistros and cafés and the people just lived. It was off the tourist trail (then).

All I can say food wise is if you steer clear of all the super touristy streets you really can't put a foot wrong food wise, plus the house wine, it'll be local and good! (and v cheap!)
Really want to go back soon, it's such a beautiful place

All the usual places are amazing but I enjoyed the Basilica of Saint Clement. Not far from the Colosseum. For someone who loves old buildings, I think you will love it. 👍
