I went through that with my whole family. I mentioned the suffering of people in this country, the gutting of rights and so on. Their response? "Well we're doing better." Which is not only abhorrent, but demonstrably false. Its hopeless for some people.
Tell me about it. My entire family is virtually complacent. Outside of a few exceptions. I still wanted to travel in a few years but well you know what happened in November. And my family ain't MAGA for that matter. We may be in a blue state but even I don't know my neighborhood
The "I got mine" attitude of many people sickens me.
I can't genuinely believe that "normal" people can see the effects of what they're supporting on other people, seeing people struggle, and just end up thinking "psh. Ah well it's not me and it won't happen to me". It's delusion and selfish
My sister says she's a Christian and I'm appalled at her attitude. It truly is like she has been hypnotized or something. I didn't think she was this kind of person.
