I finally have food producing plants in the ground ! I had a hard time getting the starts I wanted this year. That's never happened to me here in Alabama. Either more people are growing their own food this year or Bonnie plants is down in production. Either way, something dont smell right.🌱💕 - ThreadSky

I had a hard time getting the starts I wanted this year.

That's never happened to me here in Alabama.

Either more people are growing their own food this year or Bonnie plants is down in production.

Either way, something dont smell right.🌱💕

Bonnie's has nice plants but they are expensive. Look to seed websites and start your own plants next season. ☺️ I like Baker Creek, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange and Jung Seed. Happy #gardening

I started some seeds this year and burned them under the grow lights. I forgot to set the timer before we went out of town. Lesson learned lol. The direct sow method failed me as well. Every time I put seeds out we got a thunderstorm and nothing germinated. If it has its washed out into the yard 🤣

Did the mid-February hard freeze reach as far east as you? It was a setback for anything frost-tender scheduled for March or early April here in Texas.

We start from seed. A little grow light set up helped my son start his. I did mine the hard way. I still have seeds sprouting, but on the back porch now.

Also, I can't tell you how hard it was to find a tobasco pepper plant. Almost impossible! We had to have a family member bring us some from TN. And she could only find 3.

Like tomatoes.... Unless you spend $20 on one of the gallon size beefsteak plants I couldn't find just a regular pint or quart size. It was either cherry tomatoes or pink tomatoes. I got the pink lol.

I had started seeds earlier this year and killed all of the seedlings because I didn't set the timer on my grow lights. It's well past our last frost date (zone 8a) so I was looking for starts so I wasn't starting completely over. I found what i was looking for but not specific varieties.
